She have the ability to express the most common things of life in a pretty uncommon way and that’s what her strength is! This novel is truly a must read for true fiction lovers and Preeti Shenoy is an author to look out. I know it’s been a long time since it’s release but I really wanted to read this to know Preeti Shenoy as a writer. The character of Ankita hides behind her disorder. Slow paced but while in Mumbai, the MBA part went in a rush.Over detailed academic part while Ankita was in St.(Example: She describes the forming of different groups in college with example of snooker game.) Uncommon description of common events.Pouring of complicated emotions of Ankita.The second half of the novel describes her fight with her disorder and that’s where she finds the most important lesson of life that life is much bigger than we think of it. She was the patient and was suffering from bipolar disorder. The series of turmoils in her life and her passion to study made her life miserably complicated and that’s where Joseph came into her life and within some time she finds herself sitting on a bench outside mental health hospital. She was good in academics and because of being member of the cabinet of the college, she used to visit the cultural fests between different colleges and that’s where she met Abhi.Ībhi fell in love with Ankita and told his feeling to her and that’s where her mind starts playing with her. She made some friends there and her life starts to change with the elections of college which she won. She had a boyfriend named Vaibhav who got admission in IIT Delhi, the communication between them was possible only through letters and if they opt for the land-line then a whole mission has to be executed because of the family.Īnkita got admission in a college of Cochin itself named St. The story is set in Eighties so the ways of communication at that time does engulfs the interest of readers. In the beginning Ankita was like just another girl living in a conservative family of Cochin.
Ankita, beautiful, passionate, confused in love matters, excellent in academics and bounded in a conservative family that’s how Preeti has introduced this character of her novel and the whole story revolves around her and her love crushes, her family and her academics.
